Get creative this October and have a Spooktacular Halloween with our easy, simple tips on home décor. Enjoy crafting ghoulishly eerie pieces that will cause a spine-tingling chill and give your guests a creepy, cool evening of horror.

Witches Broom Halloween Lighting

A very simple way of making a big impact. If you’re having guests over for a deadly dinner party, create a stand out feature that will leave them feeling impressed and inspired.

You can buy a witches broom from amazon and ebay (the old authentic looking kind with a straw brush and a wooden handle) and hang it above the dinner table. Decorate using mason jars with battery powered candles (to avoid any fire hazards) or hang paper ghosts and witches. Add a black cat, for extra impact.

Ghostly Pinatas

A very simple, but entertaining idea for the kids. All you’ll need is a paper lantern, white and black cloth or crepe paper, black and white card, glue and scissors.

Taking your card, cut out a circle and glue it to the bottom of your paper lanterns, so that the tasty treats don’t fall out. If you choose to use cloth to cover the lantern, you will need different lengths layered on top of each other, to create a more ghoulish effect. Opt for both white and black clothed ghosts to make your feature stand out. Crepe paper will take longer to create as you will need to apply it layer by layer, cutting out and glueing down as you go. Cut out eyes and a mouth from your paper card, glue to the front and then hang your newly crafted piñata using invisible thread, to add to the spooky illusion.

Pumpkin Greeting

If you love a traditional Halloween with carved out jack o lanterns, then why not consider using your pumpkins to spell out a creepy Halloween message, like ‘trick or treat’, ‘Booo’ or ‘Fright Night’.

Any guests or passers-by will be deeply impressed with the effort taken to create your supernatural saying. Create stencil letters of your message, affix them to each pumpkin and start carving. Our tip would be to choose smaller pumpkins to carve, otherwise you could be carving til Christmas!

Eyeball Cake Pops

They make a great spooky snack for guests and trick or treaters to enjoy and they’re super easy to create. All you need is madeira cake, cookies, a bar of milk chocolate and a bar of white chocolate, smarties and icing pens. You can find the full recipe and steps to making Halloween eyeball cake pops here.

More Boos Please

This one is definitely for the grown ups!

Update your bar cart for ghoulish guests by adding a few little features that are really easy and inexpensive. Add real pumpkins, painted black, white and orange or even metallic gold and silver. Mix those with a few candlesticks, either placed in holders or in old wine bottles and add a spooky message on a letter board for added creativity.
